  • Glenn is a prolific, international professional writer with over twenty years of experience in advertising and marketing. He has worked in several advertising agencies, where he conceptualized and wrote ad campaigns for retail brands, banks, restaurants, and corporations. Currently, he is employed as a Senior Strategic Communications Specialist for the International Rice Research Institute, one of the world’s leading agricultural research organizations, where he develops communications for the institute and projects.

    He majored in Professional Writing and earned his BA in Communications from the University of the Philippines in 1994. Glenn is married to Luz (also a partner in Writer’s Ink) and as a writer-artist team, they work together in creating both copy and art for different projects. In his free time, he catches up on his reading, writes scripts and short stories, and collaborates with Caryl on multiple writing projects for Writers’ Ink.

TYLER HOGAN

CHIEF ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST

  • Tyler is the president of Bright Ideas Press. He and his wife, Helen, homeschool their five adorable children. Tyler is an author, cartographer, and game designer, as well as an elder at Grace Church.

  • When not at home, he speaks and teaches about homeschooling, geography, the arts, worldview, entrepreneurship, and other topics.

  • In his spare time, he loves reading good books, playing games with friends, drinking good tea, and enjoying the adventure of lifelong learning.

  • Caryl majored in Professional Writing, minored in Speech Communications, and holds a BA in Communications. Her academic focus was on Stylistic Analysis and Literary Theory. Besides contracting as a writer/editor and content developer for corporations (like the biotech company PHASE Scientific) and legal financial firms (like Mirena & Co.), Caryl teaches AP/ACT/SAT/PSAT Test-Prep courses and College Application Essay writing at Almond Tree Education, LLC—an educational support service in North Georgia which she founded in 2009. She is also a faculty member in an online tutorial center called REACH and has close affiliations with the publishing company, Bright Ideas Press.

    [Before the Covid-19 pandemic,] Caryl worked alongside the founder/owner, Margaret Hogan, of Bright Ideas Press, and also served as a faculty member, teaching ACT/SAT/PSAT for its online school called The Academy before the pandemic closed its doors.

    Since 1998, Caryl has actively participated and volunteered in six major home education associations throughout Georgia. In these organizations, she enjoyed opportunities to teach, mentor, and spearhead various events and projects, as well as coach families through the college application process. When she isn’t teaching or writing, she serves as a publication consultant for the corporations and local businesses in her area. Together with her husband, Jeremiah, they run their AirBNB and serve as Married Community Group leaders at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA.

    More than being an effective IT Professional, she is an analytical thinker who enjoys innovating through problem-solving and interpreting that into updating processes. As an experienced Client Support Specialist—with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry—she is adept at Negotiation, Customer Service, Strategic Planning, and a natural at Customer Satisfaction.

  • Richard attends the University of Georgia. He peruses his BA in Marketing and Management Information Systems, and a Minor in Religion. His potent mathematics background in Calculus and Statistics paved the way for him to take the lead math tutor role for Almond Tree Education, the subsidiary of Writers' Ink. As the Account Associate for both Writers’ Ink and Almond Tree Education, he handles all the financial accounts, manages the various sales and budgets of both businesses, and has multiple administrative responsibilities. His cogent social skills, giftedness in academics, and remarkable work ethic lend to a well-rounded skill set allowing him to thrive at work, at the university, and in his relationships simultaneously.

    Best of all, Richard has an extraordinary amount of patience and kindness for those around him, especially the students under his care. In spite of his many talents, he positions himself to live in service to others, and not merely prepare for a career. He has a heart for ministry and a love for people, making him an invaluable part of the team.

DULCINEA R. LAFORTEZA

CHIEF ACQUISITIONS EDITOR, LECTURER, INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS DIRECTOR

  • Emeritus Professor Dulcinea R. Laforteza is a retired faculty member of the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB). At this eminent university, she taught courses on basic English, introduction to literature, technical writing, expository writing, and multiple communication courses. Her teaching activities were done not only in UPLB but also at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), where she served as faculty-in-charge, coach, and editor of multiple instructional modules.

    One hallmark of being a part of the university faculty is conducting research. Among Dulce’s research involvements was Policy Leader for Team UPLB in an activity titled “Capability-building of English language curriculum developers for professional communication for university faculty in ASEAN universities.“ This was a joint project with the Centre for English Language Communication, the National University of Singapore, and the Department of Humanities, UPLB.

  • Aside from having a rewarding teaching career, Dulce was also the Executive Director of the University Publications Office. During her term, she published 10 issues of the U.P.Los Banos Journal and served as Chief Editor of eight issues. She edited books, modules, and other materials contracted with the UPOU, Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization–Southeast Asia Research Center for Agriculture, Commission on Higher Education, and other prominent entities.

  • The numerous workshops and seminars that Dulce attended as a lecturer, resource person, and\or participant all add to the wealth of experience that enables her to still contribute meaningfully to academic endeavors.

JEREMIAH VELOSO

CO-FOUNDER/OWNER,
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

  • Jeremiah has long been a staunch enthusiast for powerful prose and robust rhetoric. He adheres to the writing philosophy and tradition of the ancient Greek progymnasmata. For this reason, he allows his home to thrive in the foundation of the Classical Method of Learning—as his mother (an educator and attorney) exposed him to the trivium and quadrivium of the Middle Ages & Renaissance throughout his childhood. She would fondly call him her ”Renaissance Man” as he became adept in all his many pursuits. Since 1996 he has worked as a Physical Therapist, enjoying the fascinating and lovely patients he visits in the Home Healthcare circuit. He is prolific and fascinated by all the many marvelous ways the human body performs movement—how it recovers & heals. For 35 years, Jeremiah has been an impressive athlete. He has diverse backgrounds in the martial arts world: Kali, JKD/Sari-An, Kickboxing, Kempo, MMA, and BJJ. He holds a black belt in 3 arts and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach in Ascension MMA. He is a closet musician (only allowing his sons and wife to hear his resonant bass)—and for 10 years played the guitar for a small home-church community in Augusta, GA. An avid reader and thinker, he writes sports articles and blogs for Writers’ Ink.

    Despite his many talents, he is a quiet, no-nonsense, unpretentious man. Along with Caryl and Glenn, they run Writers’ Ink, creating meaningful words and touching lives along the way.

As an Art Director for a premier advertising agency in Asia, she specializes in product design and packaging, newspaper and billboard ads, brochures and catalogs, and in-store promotional materials. Her expertise includes luxury retail, consumer products, real estate, and hospitality. Aside from her professional work, she also paints and loves creating arts and crafts.

BRYLLE GALANG

  • Brylle currently works for the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) as their Media and Social Media Relations Officer. He spearheads the development and execution of digital campaigns, increasing the institute's brand awareness which extends stakeholder engagement.

    He is a passionate storyteller who has over seven years under his belt honing his craft in digital marketing, multimedia content production, as well as data management and analysis. As a digital media strategist, he collaboratively and proactively tailors evidence-based narratives with clients in order to reach their intended audience in virtual space. During his spare time, he enjoys preparing homecooked meals, playing with his pets, and conceptualizing creative projects with his friends.

  • Gustavo is a Civil Engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His gift for analytical thinking and his terrific work ethic has allowed him to succeed both academically and professionally, marking him as a reliable, invaluable member of the Writers’ Ink Team.

    In his work as an Account Associate, Gustavo exhibits stellar professionalism and assiduity within every assignment and endeavor he completes. In addition to managing finances for Writers’ Ink and Almond Tree Education, he also handles AP Calculus and AP Physics classes and a number of administrative tasks. Outside of his contribution to the two companies, he is an active member of the community and invests time in service projects throughout the greater Atlanta area.
